Download PatchWork and run it. It will operate as a fully-featured copy for 28 days with limited restrictions* on devices. When the trial ends, simply enter a licence key to continue - your configuration and history are preserved. (*parallel downloads beyond the default and advanced features require a paid license)

No. PatchWork is self-hosted and runs entirely on your infrastructure if you use WSUS locally. PatchWork will only communicate outside of your network if you chose to use Windows Update or Microsoft Update, and even then, traffic is restricted to just the required sites.

PatchWork covers the same core Windows Update facilities you'd expect from WuInstall, but modernised with many additional features and an active development cycle. PatchWork is developed in Rust, a modern, secure, memory safe language. We also offer simple, affordable, perpetual pricing if you chose to not continue support, the last version you obtained under support will continue to run. 1 year of support is included and ongoing support is priced at a fraction of the original purchase. The 28-day free trial lets you compare PatchWork against WuInstall (or your existing WSUS setup/Windows patching product) in your own environment.

PatchWork runs on supported versions of Windows Server and Windows 11. It should work on previous versions of Windows, but if Microsoft no longer provides support for a particular OS, we can only offer limited support with any issues you may encounter. An x86 version is available upon request

Yes. Each licence is a perpetual, one-time purchase for the device tier you select. You also get one years maintenance with your purchase so you are entited to use the latest version released before your maintenance expires. Optional yearly maintenance and upgrade plans are offered at a discounted rate for customers who want continued updates and support beyond the initial one year period.

Yes, the license is completely unlimited to use on ANY device within the REGISTERED Organisation, both endpoint and server and any number of users. It MAY NOT be used in other organisations outside of the purchasing company. If you need a license that allows you to provide contract support/support to 3rd party companies as well as your own, please purchase the Contractor license.

The Contractor edition can be used on any device that you support in any business, both your own or any other you support.

The home edition cannot be run on Windows servers, nor domain attached devices. These are enterprise features that typically will not be used by home users.
